About the role
- Part-time consultant reviewing AI-generated editorial, journalism, and video work for professional accuracy and realism. Providing structured quality assessments and concise feedback through 24-MAG’s remote platform.
Responsibilities
- Review completed AI-generated editorial, journalism, reporting, or video-editing work products
- Examine task instructions, supporting files, completed outputs, and evaluation results
- Assess whether deliverables reflect authentic professional workflows and standards
- Identify factual, editorial, sourcing, technical, legal, formatting, terminology, and production issues
- Evaluate task realism, constraints, expected deliverables, and professional approval processes
- Assess editorial accuracy, clarity, consistency, attribution, sourcing, and house-style compliance
- Review journalism for sourcing, factual support, context, accuracy, and credibility
- Evaluate video-editing decisions, technical requirements, narrative support, and client or broadcast readiness
- Review existing yes/no grading decisions and reported evaluation scores
- Assign appropriate quality bands and identify unsupported or inaccurate evaluations
- Provide concise, clear written rationales distinguishing material problems from minor stylistic issues
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional editing, journalism/reporting, or film/video editing experience
- Editorial applicants: experience editing other people's copy against an established house style and responsibility for content that proceeded to publication
- Journalism/reporting applicants: experience researching, reporting, and filing own stories; hands-on responsibility for sourcing and factual accuracy
- Film/video editing applicants: experience cutting completed pieces on professional editing timelines and delivering finished work to clients or broadcast specifications
- Strong hands-on delivery experience within the profession
- Experience reviewing, challenging, or approving other professionals' work particularly valuable
- Near-native business English
- Ability to provide concise written explanations for professional judgements
- Comfortable reviewing spreadsheets, PDFs, and related professional files
- Able to check numerical information and internal consistency where relevant
- Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or third party
