About the role

Director leading fixed-income investment risk analysis and monitoring at AIMCo, Alberta's investment manager. Enhancing risk reporting, modeling, and investment decision-making across portfolios.

Responsibilities

Lead portfolio risk analysis and ongoing monitoring activities for fixed income products
Provide insight into risk profiles and support risk-informed decision-making
Partner with investment and risk teams to enhance risk reporting, strategic insight, and risk modeling capabilities
Support the Senior Director, Fixed Income Investment Risk
Foster transparency, learning, collaboration, and risk awareness
Develop understanding of AIMCo's risk management framework, processes, and investment approach
Build relationships across risk and investment functions
Contribute to risk monitoring, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or another quantitative/STEM discipline
7+ years of relevant experience in investment management, risk management, financial analysis, or related fields
Strong understanding of fixed income markets, instruments, investment strategies, and factor modeling
Advanced Excel modeling capabilities
Programming experience
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to evaluate complex information and communicate findings clearly and effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Thorough attention to detail and ability to maintain perspective on broader organizational and client objectives
Ability to prioritize work, manage competing deadlines, and contribute effectively within a team environment
