About the role

  • Advisor for investor awareness and education strategies at Alberta Securities Commission. Building brand and communication strategies to enhance investor protection with engaging initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team, including the Manager, Communications and Investor Education, to refine and manage a multi-year awareness building, advertising, communications, engagement and education strategy and tactics that support the Commission’s mandate of investor protection
  • Develop and implement initiatives that grab attention, build awareness of the ASC, create interest and foster investment literacy
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the ASC to evolve resources and content
  • Provide senior-level writing and editing services for all channels
  • Lead the creation and rollout of integrated brand programs across various divisions
  • Execute the annual 'always on' brand awareness program, including creative development, media planning, and performance measurement using research and data driven insights
  • Build and maintain high-trust relationships and partnerships with a variety of stakeholders including vendors, community organizations and agencies and other regulators
  • Lead digital advertising and content execution, including managing and upholding brand standards

Requirements

  • At least six years of directly related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in advertising/marketing, communications, public relations, education or related field
  • Deep understanding of communication theory and expertise in integrating corporate messaging across channels
  • Extensive knowledge of advertising media and how to strategically leverage channels within integrated campaigns
  • Well-established planning and project management skills with an ability to think strategically
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to do research and better understand what target audiences need or want
  • Successful use of traditional and digital advertising
  • Ability to leverage data analytics
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven success in interpreting, synthesizing and translating complex information into simple, compelling language
