Part - time highway maintenance operator maintaining Ontario highways with snowplows and heavy equipment for Ledcor Highways Ltd. Supporting year - round road safety and repairs.
About the role
- Machine Operator producing advanced plastic piping systems at IPEX’s Mississauga fabrication plant. Operating saws, pipe-bending machines, and packaging equipment while conducting inspections and maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lay out work assignments and accomplish them with maximum efficiency
- Operate cutting saws
- Set up and operate automatic and manual pipe bending machines
- Control and properly sort regrind materials
- Operate strapping equipment and air nailers
- Pack products according to packaging specifications
- Perform operator quality inspection checks
- Maintain housekeeping around the area and machines, including 5S
- Perform necessary administrative functions related to the position
- Work in other capacities as directed by the direct supervisor
- Follow plant health, safety, environmental and quality policies
- Perform other assigned tasks
Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of health and safety practices
- Basic math skills, including geometry and fractions
- Ability to solve sophisticated problems using sound problem-solving techniques and judgment
- Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to adhere to instructions diligently
- Flexibility to work a 12-hour continental shift schedule, 7 days bi-weekly
