Responsibilities
Lead the preparation, coordination, review, and submission of regulatory and compliance filings to the MSA and AESO, including self-reports, self-certifications, mitigation plans, information requests, regulatory consultations, and other regulatory submissions.
Lead the development and drafting of compliance submissions, correspondence, and communications supporting regulatory risk management.
Coordinate AltaLink’s participation in AESO and MSA consultations, including regulatory strategy, submissions, stakeholder input, consultation materials, and regulatory engagement activities.
Maintain oversight of the compliance filing calendar and ensure external compliance deadlines are tracked and completed on time.
Act as the primary administrative and coordination resource for MSA self-reports.
Support AESO compliance audits, reliability audits, spot checks, monitoring activities, and self-certifications.
Develop and maintain processes, filing templates, tracking tools, databases, and reporting for regulatory and compliance activities.
Monitor regulatory filing requirements and procedural changes issued by the AESO, MSA, NERC, and other regulatory authorities.
Provide administrative and technical support for compliance management systems, SharePoint sites, databases, and other regulatory tools.
Support executive reporting, management updates, and compliance metrics.
Forecast financial risk associated with non-compliance events.
Perform other responsibilities as needed by internal business partners and leadership.

Requirements
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Economics, Finance, legal, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Minimum 8 years of progressive compliance and regulatory experience; 10+ years strongly preferred.
Proven ability and experience in the stated responsibilities.
Experience preparing and drafting submissions to regulatory agencies such as the AUC, AESO, and MSA.
Familiarity with the AUC, AESO, and their respective roles in the industry.
Knowledge of Alberta electricity agencies and their roles and responsibilities, including ARS and/or NERC and ISO Rules.
Previous experience with the AESO’s and MSA’s compliance oversight framework or NERC compliance experience in another jurisdiction.
Advanced knowledge of MS SharePoint, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Word is required.
Experience with ASSURX, SAP GRC, or related systems would be an asset.
Experience developing information management systems and document control is an asset.
