Responsibilities
Generate accurate results while following cGMP requirements
Analyze packaging material according to established compendia, in-house testing methods, and approved specifications
Receive and test incoming printed and unprinted components for conformance with specifications
Identify and immediately report OOS, Out-of-Trend, questionable, or non-conforming results to the Supervisor
Assist with laboratory investigations under the Supervisor's direction
Perform daily calibration of laboratory equipment, including balances, pH meters, and Milli-Q water systems
Perform calibration and verification of applicable test equipment
Follow regulatory, compliance, health, safety, cGMP, cGLP, and Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements
Maintain Packaging Component Standards
Prepare and maintain inventory of testing materials
Collaborate with team members to meet departmental goals and initiatives and share knowledge
Adhere to Apotex compliance, quality, safety, environment, and HR policies
Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor of Science from a recognized educational institution in Chemistry or a related field; OR Community College diploma in a related field and a minimum of 1 year relevant experience in the analysis of pharmaceutical products
Good English communication skills both written and oral
Good interpersonal skills
Detail oriented with good analytical skills
Good understanding of cGMPs and cGLPs
Knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Excel and Access
Strong organization and time management skills
Knowledge or experience with UV, FT-IR, DSC, TVS, and Torqmeter
1-2 years of experience in printed components testing would be an asset
