About the role

  • Water and wastewater process mechanical engineer designing treatment facilities, pumping stations, and communal systems. Delivering sustainable engineering and consultancy solutions for Canadian infrastructure through Arcadis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process mechanical design for upgrades to municipal water and wastewater treatment and storage facilities and pumping/lift stations
  • Lead process mechanical design for new communal water and wastewater systems
  • Provide engineering services during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, conducting site inspections, and participating in system testing and commissioning
  • Develop construction documents, specifications, bases of design, and detailed calculations
  • Complete assessments, develop and cost design options, and prepare technical memoranda
  • Lead design coordination between engineering disciplines
  • Develop process flow narratives and complete hydraulic analyses
  • Assist with project management, including budget and schedule tracking
  • Participate in proposal preparation and business development
  • Collaborate with discipline lead engineers on water and wastewater projects

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in process mechanical engineering for water and wastewater facilities
  • Bachelor degree in civil or chemical engineering or recognized equivalent
  • P. Eng. designation, in good standing
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD systems including AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Strong working knowledge of the REVIT modelling system
  • Strong working knowledge of design standards, guidelines and codes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities
