About the role

  • Senior Director leading Arc'teryx's global sports marketing, athlete partnerships, academies, and community programs. Shaping brand growth across climbing, snow, trail, and worldwide outdoor communities.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the long-term vision, strategy, and execution of Arc'teryx's Global Sports Marketing program
  • Lead the Global Athlete Team, Partnerships, Academies, and Community programs
  • Shape brand engagement with athletes, guides, search and rescue, ambassadors, and outdoor communities worldwide across Climb, Snow, and Trail
  • Partner with Regional Marketing leaders, mountain and athlete community leaders, the Global Brand Team, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Define strategic direction and operating models for the Community Team and Global Arc'teryx Academies
  • Build a world-class Sports Marketing organization
  • Set global vision and enterprise strategy for Athlete Marketing, Partnerships, Academies, and Community
  • Establish a cohesive global athlete strategy covering identification, recruitment, development, services, and lifecycle management
  • Own global sports marketing investment strategy and performance framework
  • Establish governance frameworks and shared standards with regional and global teams
  • Forge high-impact partnerships with organizations, federations, guides, search and rescue, ambassadors, and marquee events
  • Evolve and scale Arc'teryx-owned global events and brand moments
  • Embed athletes, partnerships, academies, and community initiatives into innovation pipelines, storytelling, and global campaigns
  • Lead content strategy to capture, share, and amplify credible stories
  • Partner with Product and Advanced Concept teams to incorporate athlete insight and field feedback into product creation
  • Represent the company in global industry forums, key events, and strategic partner engagements
  • Cultivate connections with core communities and cultural leaders
  • Drive executive-level alignment, strategic planning, high-impact forums, and board-level communications
  • Strengthen the athlete, partnership, and community ecosystem through diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Explore digital, immersive, experiential, and community-led engagement platforms
  • Advance outdoor sport, sustainability, inclusion, and access through brand initiatives

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience building and scaling athlete team, partnership, and community strategies for a global outdoor sports, apparel, or footwear brand
  • Deep connection to the outdoor sports industry and culture
  • Strong understanding of athlete performance across climb, snow, and trail
  • Experience building and scaling a sports marketing/partnership program at a comparable brand
  • Demonstrated, measurable results in brand visibility and equity
  • Experience securing and managing media partnerships and event partnerships
  • Experience leading content strategy for sports marketing or partnership programs
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and track record of developing innovative sports marketing and community teams
  • Demonstrated success building, leading, and coaching high-performing teams across complex, matrixed global organizations
  • Inspiring communication and ability to align diverse stakeholders through influence, credibility, and trust
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and sustain influential relationships with athletes, partners, and stakeholders
  • Skilled at leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making
  • Experience managing budgets, business planning, and operating models
  • Global perspective, balancing enterprise consistency with local relevance
  • Passion for the outdoors and embodiment of the Arc'teryx ethos professionally and personally
