About the role

  • Installation Technician servicing and installing automated pedestrian doors for ASSA ABLOY, a global access-solutions manufacturer. Diagnosing electro-mechanical issues and supporting customers, contractors, and end-users.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service and installation according to manufacturers’ recommended procedures and specifications
  • Document time spent and detail problems, shortages, and inefficiencies at job sites
  • Perform all work safely to prevent accidents and protect people and property
  • Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment
  • Perform planned maintenance, break-fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electro-mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic
  • Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low-voltage wiring
  • Communicate professionally with customers, end-users, and contractors
  • Participate in training programs
  • Participate in on-call rotations after certification and training
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, positioning, and installing door components weighing up to 110 pounds with lifting aids; climb ladders, kneel, drive, and work in various positions

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience of direct industry, storefront door installation, or relevant industry experience
  • Minimum age requirement of 21
  • Must be able to successfully obtain AAADM certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain certification as required
  • Must be able to successfully obtain AAADM certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification as required
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in repairing electro-mechanical devices
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage (120v) wiring
  • Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively
