About the role

Responsibilities
- Serve as the Lead Structural Engineer on hydroelectric projects
- Design hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants, and related concrete and steel structures
- Rehabilitate hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants, and related structures
- Coordinate multidisciplinary activities and assist with or lead design meetings
- Produce preliminary and detailed engineering designs
- Prepare and/or review structural calculations and associated calculation reports
- Participate in and oversee the preparation of design reports, structural drawings, and technical specifications for tendering and construction
- Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate engineers
- Maintain regular contact with clients and provide updates on project progress
- Work on projects ranging from feasibility studies through construction at the provincial, national, and international levels
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Structures
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is an asset
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in the design of building structures, bridges and other major structures, and/or hydraulic structures
- Practical field experience supporting engineering, construction, operations, or maintenance activities is an asset
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Fluency in French, both spoken and written
- Bilingualism is an asset
- Willingness to conduct site visits and occasional travel
