About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design fire protection and/or fire alarm systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors
  • Guide and supervise technicians, drafters, and modelers assigned to the same projects
  • Perform discipline-related calculations
  • Prepare the technical specifications and reports required for project delivery
  • Estimate construction, maintenance, and operations costs
  • Participate in construction administration, including reviewing fabrication plans and shop drawings, preparing change notices, reviewing costs and payment applications, and reviewing project closeout documents
  • Conduct surveys and inspections of discipline-related installations
  • Collaborate with and work under the supervision of senior engineers

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with a specialization in building systems engineering, or equivalent relevant education
  • Be registered with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Have approximately 5 years of relevant experience in fire protection
  • Knowledge of REVIT MEP and NFPA standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team
