About the role
- Civil Structural Engineer designing and rehabilitating hydroelectric structures for AtkinsRéalis, a Canadian engineering and nuclear services organization. Coordinating multidisciplinary deliverables across infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural design of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric generating stations, and related concrete and steel structures
- Contribute to rehabilitation of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric facilities, and associated infrastructure
- Coordinate multidisciplinary activities and support or lead design meetings
- Produce preliminary and detailed engineering deliverables
- Prepare and verify structural calculations and supporting calculation notes
- Participate in developing design reports, structural drawings, and technical specifications
- Support and oversee production of technical deliverables for tendering and construction purposes
- Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering professionals on hydroelectric projects across Canada and internationally
Requirements
- Ability to hold a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural engineering; a master's degree is considered an asset
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the design of building structures, bridges, engineering structures, and/or hydraulic structures
- Ability to be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or be in the process of obtaining membership
- Proficiency in ADA (Advanced Design America), SAP2000, MathCAD, and CADAM 3D software
- Aptitude for conducting site visits and occasional travel
- Practical field experience supporting engineering, construction, operations, or maintenance activities is an asset
