About the role
- Trackwork engineer designing, assessing, and supporting construction of railway infrastructure. Collaborating on multidisciplinary projects for AtkinsRéalis across Canada and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, assess, repair and study railway, track and related infrastructure
- Use engineering judgment, analysis, experience and relevant standards to develop drawings, reports and specifications
- Perform calculations/checks and document reviews
- Participate in quality processes
- Lead small teams and provide engineering oversight and support for junior engineering and technical staff
- Lead small projects from technical and project management perspectives
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand needs and develop functional solutions
- Support the Rail Infrastructure practice in achieving corporate targets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science/Engineering
- 5+ years of design and/or construction experience in railway engineering or related field
- French language skills (asset)
- Ability to work in the Eastern timezone (Montreal/Toronto) from BC (asset)
- Ability to travel short-term (asset)
- Member in good standing with EGBC or another Canadian engineering provincial association, or eligible to achieve professional designation from EGBC
