About the role

  • Trackwork engineer designing, assessing, and supporting construction of railway infrastructure. Collaborating on multidisciplinary projects for AtkinsRéalis across Canada and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, assess, repair and study railway, track and related infrastructure
  • Use engineering judgment, analysis, experience and relevant standards to develop drawings, reports and specifications
  • Perform calculations/checks and document reviews
  • Participate in quality processes
  • Lead small teams and provide engineering oversight and support for junior engineering and technical staff
  • Lead small projects from technical and project management perspectives
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand needs and develop functional solutions
  • Support the Rail Infrastructure practice in achieving corporate targets

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science/Engineering
  • 5+ years of design and/or construction experience in railway engineering or related field
  • French language skills (asset)
  • Ability to work in the Eastern timezone (Montreal/Toronto) from BC (asset)
  • Ability to travel short-term (asset)
  • Member in good standing with EGBC or another Canadian engineering provincial association, or eligible to achieve professional designation from EGBC
  • Strong communication skills
