About the role

Mechanical Engineering Student role supporting various mechanical engineering projects at AtkinsRéalis. Opportunities for hands-on experience in the nuclear industry and practical application of engineering principles.

Responsibilities

Provide support to Mechanical Engineers, Discipline Leads, and Engineering Managers in day-to-day engineering activities and coordination
Support in the development and assembly of engineering deliverables for both nuclear and conventional mechanical systems
Assist in delivering work in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements
Interface with multi-disciplines and other project sectors (Document Control, Project Management, field team) for coordination on assigned task scopes
Collaborate with members of the nuclear team to facilitate the general workflow (e.g., coordinate document reviews and Request for Information (RFI) correspondences)
Attend technical and project coordination meetings

Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals
Ability to apply learned principles in developing practical solutions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office-related software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge/prior working experience in the nuclear industry is an asset
Basic knowledge of analytical and design tools (MATLAB, MathCAD) is an asset
Strong planning and organizational skills
Strong multi-tasking coordination skills

Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
Fluency in communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
Adaptability to change
Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering Program with an accredited Canadian University
Ability to obtain Security Clearance is mandatory
