About the role

  • SVP leading pharmaceutical client services, strategic marketing, and major account growth for Avalere Health. Managing senior client relationships, teams, forecasts, and integrated brand initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong, engaged leadership to the Client Services team
  • Direct team members to meet organizational, team, and individual goals
  • Establish brand priorities and contribute to team discussions and problem-solving
  • Lead, motivate, and unify teams while ensuring a positive employee experience
  • Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and training
  • Lead and strengthen a team of VP Account leaders
  • Drive client and internal team initiatives
  • Lead clients and internal teams toward unified strategic marketing plans and goals
  • Build and nurture senior-level client relationships through regular communication and quarterly business reviews
  • Triage and manage sensitive client discussions and escalation issues
  • Own final decisions on agency recommendations and client relationship escalations
  • Advise clients using deep pharmaceutical industry and marketing knowledge
  • Contribute to annual brand planning, marketing planning, and budget development
  • Provide strategic counsel and recommendations addressing client business problems
  • Integrate insights, research, data analytics, and agency offerings into client recommendations
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Engagement, Creative, Scientific, and Digital leaders
  • Develop and update account forecasts monthly and quarterly
  • Partner with Business Operations on staffing plans and client delivery
  • Achieve annual revenue plans and pursue new assignments and organic growth
  • Manage Client Services utilization targets
  • Recruit account talent with Talent Acquisition and maintain a talent pipeline
  • Contribute to annual business planning
  • Represent the Avalere Health brand with clients and operate with integrity, empathy, and respect

Requirements

  • 20 or more years of experience in marketing or marketing-related roles within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Agency Account leadership experience required
  • Experience leading books of business with yearly revenues of $25 million or more
  • Experience leading teams of account management professionals at multiple levels, with teams of 10 people or more
  • Experience in digital marketing and fully integrated marketing projects preferred
  • Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience across marketing planning and budget development
  • Experience working with brands through all lifecycle phases, including pre-launch, disease education, and launch
  • Strong financial acumen, including revenue forecasting and margin management
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of brand, engagement, and sales metrics
  • Ability to lead senior client relationships and manage complex or sensitive escalations
  • Ability to collaborate across Strategy, Engagement, Creative, Scientific, and Digital functions
