About the role

  • Sales Representative managing Avantor’s laboratory and science-product accounts near Hamilton. Driving consultative sales, customer retention, territory growth, and manufacturer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a large territory of customer accounts as the primary post-sale contact
  • Manage complex negotiations and drive customer satisfaction, retention, and business growth
  • Engage clients through face-to-face meetings and digital channels to close sales and provide ongoing support
  • Respond to inquiries and provide consultative guidance on products and services
  • Execute sales strategies, generate performance reports, and identify opportunities to increase sales volume
  • Mentor less experienced sales representatives and contribute to regional sales strategy
  • Prospect and establish new customers through pipeline management and proposals
  • Sell consultatively by determining customer needs and recommending solutions
  • Develop strategic territory business plans with sales management
  • Build and sustain customer relationships and ensure satisfaction and loyalty
  • Manage VWR’s product portfolio and implement sales and marketing strategies
  • Develop customer retention strategies and expand VWR’s role with existing customers
  • Represent and develop relationships with manufacturers
  • Work with local manufacturer representatives to improve product knowledge, pricing, and account profitability

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Science or higher
  • 3-5+ Years Sales Experience Preferred
  • Business to Business Sales Experience Preferred
  • Excellent communication and team interaction skills
  • Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and interactions
  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to sell strategically within an account
  • Ability to understand individual customer operations
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations
  • Computer Knowledge (Microsoft Office)
  • Holder of a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations minimum 5 days a week
  • Must reside in close proximity to Hamilton, ON
