About the role

  • Avantor sales representative growing laboratory and scientific-solutions revenue across Greater Vancouver. Managing customer territories, new-business pipelines, consultative selling, and account retention.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a defined territory and portfolio of customers to support revenue growth
  • Acquire new customers and expand business within existing accounts through in-person meetings, product presentations, and consultative selling
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Product Specialists, Customer Care, sales management, and local manufacturer representatives
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems such as C4C
  • Monitor sales activity and execute territory business plans aligned with commercial goals
  • Manage a sales pipeline and develop and deliver customer proposals
  • Develop retention strategies and expand Avantor’s role with existing customers
  • Detail products, determine customer needs, and recommend Avantor solutions
  • Build and sustain customer relationships and ensure satisfaction and loyalty
  • Implement company marketing plans, sales strategies, and sales processes
  • Develop product knowledge, obtain favored pricing, and improve account profitability
  • Demonstrate Avantor’s mission and uphold the Avantor Code of Conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree within sciences or equivalent, or applicable experience preferred
  • 1-3+ years of experience preferred working in a complex, dynamic sales environment
  • Business-to-business sales experience preferred
  • Distribution experience, scientific background and/or work in a laboratory or research environment preferred
  • Excellent people skills in communicating and collaborating with customers, manufacturing reps, management, team members and internal specialists
  • Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to sell strategically within an account
  • Ability to understand individual customer operations
  • Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, with preference for experience in Salesforce or Qlikview
  • Should be located in the Great Vancouver Area
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License in good standing
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations at minimum 5 days per week
  • Expected travel 50-75% including overnights
  • Canadian Sales associates are required to travel to the United States for annual sales conferences and occasional training sessions
