Responsibilities
Assess motor vehicle repair costs
Assist in adjusting and settling automobile physical damage claims
Prepare complete, competitive auto repair estimates using automated estimating systems
Communicate repair estimate information to customers, repair facilities, and claim representatives
Negotiate with repair facilities on repair plan processes
Re-inspect repaired vehicles for quality of service and cost control
Evaluate the actual value of vehicles declared a total loss
Control storage and rental vehicle costs
Fulfill claim investigation and resolution needs in the field
Report fraudulent claims to the senior supervisor
Requirements
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Minimum of 5 years of vehicle damage appraisal and collision repair industry experience
Working knowledge of Mitchell Estimating System
Strong knowledge of motor vehicle repairs, including passenger vehicles
Prior appraiser experience
Strong computer skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays as required
