Industrial automation technician supporting AWC’s integrated water and wastewater treatment solutions. Handling PLC programming, commissioning, field support, and SCADA/RTU applications.
Responsibilities
Support internal Factory Acceptance Testing before equipment shipment to site
Support field commissioning and operations of complete water and wastewater systems
Travel for field support for less than 10% of working time
Provide remote technical support for clients and site operators
Act as the main contact for warranty and technical support
Communicate with engineering, fabrication, CAD, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve issues
Deliver exceptional service to clients and on-site partners
Develop control system designs from the control system design through field instrumentation
Procure customer user requirement specifications
Evaluate control strategies and suitability for common industrial processes using P&IDs
Evaluate I&C documentation, including Control Narratives, RATS Lists, Cause and Effect Diagrams, and Serial Interface Lists
Design and implement multiple-loop control systems
Program PLCs and calibrate field devices
Develop intuitive HMI display graphics and configurations
Develop SCADA/RTU applications, including historian, trending, and reporting
Requirements
3-5 years of experience
Experience in water/wastewater treatment plants and other turnkey industrial process packages is an asset
Post-secondary education in Automation & Instrumentation
Experience in PLC programming and field service support
Experience with a variety of PLCs, preferably Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix
Experience and/or working knowledge with HMIs, preferably FactoryTalk View Studio
Experience and/or knowledge with SCADA, various VFDs, and industrial communications networks
Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and pride in delivering high quality results
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Strong planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail
