About the role

  • Co-op Student in Audit role at independent CPA firm in Vancouver. Gaining hands-on experience in auditing and accounting frameworks for public company audits.

Responsibilities

  • Gain practical, hands-on experience by actively contributing to real audit engagements.
  • Apply Technical Knowledge: Apply accounting and auditing frameworks (such as IFRS, US GAAP, Canadian and US Auditing Standards) to actual public and private company audits.
  • Leverage Modern Audit Technology: Work with advanced audit software and participate in testing and implementing innovative tools, including AI-driven applications and data analytics software.
  • Develop Professional Soft Skills: Build strong communication and interpersonal skills through daily collaboration with your internal audit team and professional interactions with client accounting staff.
  • Practice Project Management: Learn to manage your time and deliverables effectively, balancing tasks across multiple client files and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to Team Problem-Solving: Participate in team discussions and research technical accounting issues to help find practical solutions for client challenges.

Requirements

  • Motivated co-op students for an 8-month term starting in September 2026 or a 4-month term starting in January 2027.
  • Apply accounting and auditing frameworks (such as IFRS, US GAAP, Canadian and US Auditing Standards) to actual public and private company audits.
  • Work with advanced audit software and participate in testing and implementing innovative tools, including AI-driven applications and data analytics software.
  • Build strong communication and interpersonal skills through daily collaboration with your internal audit team and professional interactions with client accounting staff.
