About the role
- Senior Project Manager implementing Waters laboratory automation and LIS solutions for healthcare laboratories. Leading customer projects, change management, training, and cross-functional delivery across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans across the implementation lifecycle
- Lead pre-installation site planning, customer engagement, change management, LIS connectivity, implementation support, and customer training
- Serve as the primary liaison between Waters and customer stakeholders
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and Clinical Professional Services teams
- Maintain implementation dashboards and track project milestones
- Identify risks and communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders
- Allocate resources, manage timelines, and track milestones for customer projects
- Lead implementation activities and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within scope
- Establish customer expectations for technical implementation and organizational change management
- Design programs supporting long-term success of laboratory automation implementations
- Transition project ownership to customers upon project acceptance
- Manage LIS connectivity solutions and software customizations
- Support software integration, application deployment, and change management initiatives
- Monitor project governance, performance, budgets, quality objectives, communication plans, and organizational goals
- Lead technical and operational implementation programs using Lean, continuous improvement, and change management principles
- Ensure contractual performance commitments and workflow objectives are achieved
- Capture and communicate customer insights, lessons learned, and market feedback
- Travel across Canada, mainly western provinces, to customer sites
Requirements
- University degree (Molecular Diagnostic or Microbiology preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive project management experience within the medical device industry
- Experience successfully leading cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation while meeting quality, regulatory, timeline, and business priorities
- PMP Certified
- Demonstrated fluency in English, including strong written, verbal, and reading comprehension skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Proven experience leading complex implementation projects and large-scale change management initiatives
- Knowledge of laboratory automation technologies, microbiology workflows, and laboratory operations
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), software integration, and healthcare IT environments
- Familiarity with Lean and continuous improvement methodologies
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Clinical Lab is desirable
- Lean Black Belt Certification is desirable
- Fluent in French is desirable
- Proficiency with Salesforce and/or ServiceMax
- Must reside in British Columbia, Alberta, or Ontario
- Must reside near a major airport
- Requires approximately 50% travel across Canada, mainly western provinces
- Travel may include nights and some weekends
