About the role

  • Portfolio manager updating BDC’s Canadian loan portfolio through annual reviews and service requests. Evaluating complex credit risks and restructuring financing for Canadian entrepreneurs.

Responsibilities

  • Update the Bank’s loan portfolio by processing service requests and annual reviews during the loan life cycle
  • Analyze and recommend complex and advanced service requests
  • Support the Business Development team in developing efficient solutions for client requests while adhering to Bank policies and directives
  • Follow up on outstanding file issues and ensure forms, information, conditions, and signatures are accurate and complete
  • Validate portfolio profitability by monitoring clients’ borrowing activities and identify financing or consulting opportunities
  • Review financial statements, complete financial analysis, and evaluate risk ratings
  • Address potential risks including arrears, risk deterioration, and declining financial results
  • Evaluate high and advanced risk requests and develop solutions to restructure agreements, minimize risk, and mitigate losses
  • Authorize, decline, or recommend services within established parameters
  • Maintain relationships with business centre personnel and internal colleagues
  • Coach, mentor, and share experience with team members
  • Monitor economic trends and changes to policies, procedures, credit, and regulatory issues affecting clients and BDC

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration
  • Three to five years’ experience as an account manager in the banking sector
  • In-depth knowledge of banking products, services, policies, processes, and procedures
  • Ability to analyze complex financial structures
  • Ability to identify and solve problems proactively with good judgment
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to a changing environment
  • Good time management skills and ability to set priorities to meet tight deadlines
  • Cooperative attitude
  • Bilingualism is an asset
