About the role

  • Senior Business Advisor optimizing operations for Canadian SMEs at BDC, the bank dedicated to developing Canadian businesses. Delivering consulting mandates, operational efficiency solutions, project management, and business development support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver standard and customized advisory mandates
  • Provide solutions in operations assessments, plant layout optimization, and business process optimization
  • Ensure high-quality client outcomes that support business growth
  • Manage project scope, budget, timelines, and objectives
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of project work and deliverables
  • Apply project management best practices
  • Act as a recognized expert in operational efficiency
  • Stay current on market trends, emerging technologies, and operational best practices
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of advisory solutions and tools
  • Support sales through client needs assessments and customized proposals
  • Work with Client Partners to transfer knowledge, deliver projects, and identify new business opportunities
  • Participate in outreach and marketing initiatives to promote the practice’s offerings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • MBA or relevant professional designation considered an asset
  • Minimum 10 years of consulting experience, ideally within a consulting firm
  • Strong background in operational efficiency, operations optimization, Lean methodologies, and Six Sigma practices
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in Operations Digitization and AI
  • Experience in Robotics and Automation
  • Experience with ERP, MES, MWS, and other operations management systems
  • Deep expertise in operational excellence and business transformation
  • Ability to develop pragmatic, results-oriented solutions for SMEs
  • Strong strategic coaching and advisory capabilities
  • Demonstrated success managing and delivering consulting engagements
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities
  • Proven relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High emotional intelligence and collaborative mindset
  • Strong client focus with a commitment to delivering measurable value
  • Professional bilingualism in French and English, spoken and written
  • Willingness to travel within the region
