About the role
- Accounting co-op preparing financial statements, review engagements, and tax files for BDO Canada clients. Building client relationships and completing accounting analysis across Manitoba offices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for Notice to Reader and Review engagements
- Prepare working files for income tax and information returns for clients of various sizes
- Build positive working relationships with clients and respond to requests and suggestions
- Complete ongoing accounting analysis and assignments following established procedures
- Communicate progress updates and issues to team members on an ongoing basis
- Participate in learning and professional development
- Work in the office, at client sites, and virtually as part of BDO’s blended model
Requirements
- Currently working towards a degree/diploma focused in accounting
- Interested in long-term growth within the Financial Reporting & Insights team
- May have experience or certifications with QuickBooks, Xero and/or Sage
- Values teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Pursuing or intending to earn the CPA designation
