About the role
- HVAC/Plumber Technician servicing HVAC, RTU, chiller, and refrigeration systems for Black & McDonald in Saskatoon. Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, gas, and refrigerant systems.
Responsibilities
- Work on RTUs and HVAC systems
- Inspect compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves
- Perform system checks, troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery
- Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting
- Maintain daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and service records
- Research and resolve complex system problems
- Complete assigned paperwork and forms
- Conduct safety inspections, including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Verify compliance with safety regulations
- Report directly to the Service Supervisor
Requirements
- Previous experience as a HVAC technician
- HVAC certification
- Brazing and soldering skills
- Knowledge of local building codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
- Clean Class 5 SK Driver’s License and abstract
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with fellow employees, customers, and stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and mobile device applications
- Successful Criminal Background Check
