About the role

  • Class 1 Operator safely hauling water and sewer at Birch Mountain Enterprises’ Kearl Lake industrial services site. Operating water, sewer, and vacuum units on a 14-on, 14-off camp schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate several types of Class 1 units, including water, sewer, and vacuum units
  • Haul both water and sewer from the Kearl Lake client site
  • Complete daily logbooks, customer work orders, field level risk assessments, and pre/post-trip inspections
  • Follow tasks assigned by Dispatch or the Supervisor
  • Complete daily housekeeping of the assigned truck
  • Attend toolbox and safety meetings and follow corporate and site safety regulations
  • Maintain and operate BME tools and equipment to required standards
  • Keep all required training current
  • Follow TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities
  • Provide customer-focused service
  • Work safely and physically in all weather conditions

Requirements

  • Valid Class 1 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience, including up to 18-speed manual Class 1 equipment
  • Previous or related experience operating water and vacuum units
  • Mine drive experience required
  • TDG knowledge
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • OSSA or BSO/CSO certification
  • CSTS certification
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification
  • Daily Trip Inspections certification
  • Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta certification
  • Weights and Dimensions certification
  • Cargo Securement for flatbeds certification
  • WHMIS certification
  • H2S Alive certification
  • First Aid certification
  • Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation
  • Must successfully pass drug and alcohol screening
  • Must successfully pass fit-for-duty pre-employment screening
  • Must be physically fit and able to work in all weather
  • Must be willing to haul both water and sewer
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
