About the role
- Senior DevOps Engineer securing Boeing Canada’s Azure, Kubernetes, and on-premise platforms. Leading CI/CD, infrastructure automation, reliability, compliance, and technical mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize GitLab CI pipelines with end-to-end automation for build, test, deployment, and rollback
- Provision and manage Azure resources using Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
- Deploy and manage containerized workloads using AKS and Docker alongside serverless functions
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, performance tuning, incident response, and root cause analysis
- Integrate security controls into pipelines and enforce Azure Policy, RBAC, and secrets management
- Collaborate with developers, architects, security, and product teams
- Lead technical direction, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and share best practices
- Resolve complex infrastructure, deployment, and reliability issues across distributed systems
- Maintain compliance and implement security-by-design, cloud migration planning, and cost optimization
- Translate complex technology into business outcomes for executives
- Lead technical systems and application activities
- Install, configure, and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software, and components
- Plan, develop, design, integrate, and maintain computer applications
- Plan and coordinate complex enterprise software and hardware releases
- Evaluate production readiness and supportability of complex systems
- Restore complex computing service operations
- Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis
- Maintain documentation of configurations, operations, and troubleshooting procedures
- Ensure infrastructure is securely configured and updated with the latest security patches
- Work in collaboration with and under the functional direction of the Solutions Architect
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, including 3+ years working with Microsoft Azure or another cloud platform
- Proven experience designing, operating, and supporting secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms
- Ability to work independently while providing hands-on technical support and strategic guidance
- 5+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux and network administration
- Experience with Eclipse, Git, Jira, and VersionOne
- Experience working as part of an Agile delivery team
- Experience with Argo CD and GitLab CI/CD
- Experience with on-premises deployments and associated operational challenges
- Must be eligible for authorization under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must not pose a risk to the safeguarding of controlled goods
- Must be eligible for Canadian Secret Level II security clearance
- Must be eligible to handle U.S. export-controlled data
- Strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and operational experience
- Experience with AI/ML
- Strong knowledge of Java, Python, Node.js, HTML, Angular 2+, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React
- Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform
- Experience developing and supporting applications in Docker
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar
- Experience with large and complex databases, preferably Oracle
- Experience with data models and database design
- Experience operating in a production environment
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools
- Understanding of service mesh architectures and related technologies
- Familiarity with static code analysis tools such as Coverity
- Successful candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process
- Position requires ability to obtain and maintain Secret Level II security clearance from the Canadian government
