About the role

  • Manager of Human Resources for Calgary West Central Primary Care Network. Leading HR strategy and operations to align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and implement all aspects of the CWC PCN’s HR strategy to align with business objectives.
  • Lead and provide oversight to the HR team in operating talent acquisition, total rewards, learning and development, organizational change and development, employee relations, performance management, occupational health and safety, engagement and retention, and HR technology and analytics.
  • Manage and ensure the efficient day-to-day delivery of HR services and processes across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing partnerships with clients (CWC PCN leadership and management) and provide advice based on best practices, policies, and employment law.
  • Act as a key contact for the HRIS system (UKG) relationship.
  • Work with business units to analyze and forecast needs, identify critical talent gaps, and develop and implement appropriate strategies for talent acquisition, engagement, development, and retention.
  • Support the annual market compensation review and salary structure adjustment process.
  • Lead the annual compensation and benefits entitlements allocation process and communication of total rewards packages to employees.
  • Lead the job evaluation and salary structure placement process for all new and updated roles.
  • Act as key contact for the benefits provider relationship and all group benefits programs.
  • Support internal and external learning and development initiatives.
  • Oversee the resolution of sensitive and complex employee issues.
  • Continually monitor legal and regulatory developments in employment law and update policies and procedures.
  • Lead and oversee the CWC PCN’s Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Management System.
  • In collaboration with the department director, develop and manage the annual budget for the department.
  • Oversee performance management processes through annual reviews and ongoing performance discussions.
  • Lead the full employee lifecycle for direct reports, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, recognition, and timely resolution of performance concerns.
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and operation of departmental program offerings using project and change management methodologies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of six years’ progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist or business partner capacity, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience leading a team and accountable for all aspects of people leadership, including performance management, coaching, employee development, and employee relations.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience supporting a remote, dispersed workforce (asset).
  • A minimum of one year of payroll experience (asset).
  • CPHR designation is required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (UKG).
  • A clear Criminal Background check is required to start.
