Safety Advisor responsible for overseeing safety policies and ensuring compliance in energy sector projects. Collaborating with project teams to promote a safety-first culture in Alberta.
Responsibilities
Oversee safety policies and procedures for industrial sites
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
Provide safety training and toolbox talks to employees and contractors
Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents, preparing detailed reports with recommendations for improvement
Ensure compliance with Canadian occupational health and safety laws, including provincial regulations (e.g., Alberta OHS)
Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to promote a safety-first culture
Maintain safety documentation, records, and reports
Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on-site
Requirements
National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or equivalent certification required
CRSP designation required
Industrial experience required
Strong knowledge of Canadian health and safety regulations, including CSA standards and provincial OHS Acts
Excellent communication skills
Ability to conduct risk assessments and enforce corrective actions
Proficiency in safety reporting and documentation tools
Required tickets: H2S Alive, CSTS or CSO, WHMIS 2015, First Aid
