About the role

  • Safety Advisor responsible for overseeing safety policies and ensuring compliance in energy sector projects. Collaborating with project teams to promote a safety-first culture in Alberta.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety policies and procedures for industrial sites
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
  • Provide safety training and toolbox talks to employees and contractors
  • Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents, preparing detailed reports with recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian occupational health and safety laws, including provincial regulations (e.g., Alberta OHS)
  • Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to promote a safety-first culture
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, and reports
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on-site

Requirements

  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or equivalent certification required
  • CRSP designation required
  • Industrial experience required
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian health and safety regulations, including CSA standards and provincial OHS Acts
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and enforce corrective actions
  • Proficiency in safety reporting and documentation tools
  • Required tickets: H2S Alive, CSTS or CSO, WHMIS 2015, First Aid
