Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care management under the direct supervision of the nurse in charge
Foster positive, professional communications
Function according to the standards of the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba and the Churchill Regional Health Authority
Function as Nurse in Charge as directed by the Nursing Supervisor or Nurse in Charge
Participate in Quality Service and Quality Improvement Programs
Participate as a member of the health care team
Participate in staff education and professional development
Requirements
Graduate of a recognized diploma and/or degree program in nursing
Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
Current CPR Certification
Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to foster good public relationships and effective working relationships
Calm and confident manner during emergency and/or difficult situations
Moderate to heavy physical effort required
Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search
Current Child Abuse Registry Check
Current Adult Abuse Registry Check
Previous acute care experience an asset
ACLS an asset
Active participation in professional associations such as Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred

12-hour shifts on a 4-on, 4-off rotation
Additional time off: 12 consecutive days off twice per year
Isolation/Retention Allowance: $14,300 annually, paid as a lump sum in October
Remoteness Allowance: $167.64 bi-weekly for single employees or $277.95 bi-weekly for employees with dependants
Full-Time Incentive: $5.95 per hour
Vacation Travel Assistance: one economy return airfare per year beginning in Year 2; two economy return airfares per year beginning in Year 6
Two paid travel days per year
Up to $7,500 in eligible moving expenses
Furnished one-bedroom apartment including utilities, Wi-Fi and laundry at a competitive monthly rate
