About the role

  • Registered Dietitian Diabetes Educator providing nutritional care and diabetes management at St. Boniface Hospital. Collaborating within a clinical team to promote healthy outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the provision and promotion of optimal nutritional care and diabetes management care to clients according to professional Standards of Practice.

Requirements

  • Two years clinical nutrition experience required.
  • Previous experience in diabetes education preferred.
  • Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science degree, Human Nutritional Sciences, dietetic or related area from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated required.
  • Graduate of a recognized dietetic internship program or practical training program, which has been accredited by the applicable certifying body.
  • Canadian Diabetes Educator certificate required.
  • Active certification as a trainer for insulin pumps available in Canada required within two (2) years of start of position.
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand French may be preferred in certain positions.
