About the role

  • Communications Officer creating Radio-Canada brand activations and community events across Quebec. Coordinating partnerships, contests, broadcasts, ambassadors and promotional communications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan and deliver original brand activations and experiential events
  • Help negotiate, draft, monitor and implement partnership agreements
  • Implement and co-ordinate internal/external communications strategies for initiatives
  • Draft strategic marketing briefs and collaborate with communications teams
  • Design and roll out small-scale initiatives and major events
  • Plan event calendars and production schedules, scout locations and manage budgets
  • Oversee partnership contests, including copywriting, rules, legal approvals, prizes, promotion and winner/supplier follow-up
  • Assist the media relations team with news releases
  • Plan and execute remote broadcasts with programming and technical teams
  • Co-ordinate, train and support brand ambassadors
  • Evaluate activities and campaigns, conduct post-mortems and optimize results
  • Manage and respond to partnership email inquiries
  • Support event and cultural engagement operations as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, advertising, marketing or a related field
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a similar role
  • Advanced French reading, speaking and writing skills
  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada, its mandate and programming
  • Demonstrated negotiation, planning and organizational skills
  • Passion for event management and flexibility for event schedules
  • Leadership, self-direction, sound judgment and initiative
  • Ability to manage pressure and multiple concurrent projects
  • Creativity in promotional events and brand activations
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Jira and Canva
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Good knowledge of the Quebec cultural sector
  • Experience with marketing principles and brand-building strategies
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours or extended shifts
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Successful candidates must complete a practical test and interview
  • Candidates advancing in the process must complete a mandatory criminal record check; other background checks may apply
