About the role

  • Financial Empowerment Facilitator delivering Momentum's poverty-reduction programs in Calgary. Supporting participants through financial education, intake, workshops, referrals, and case management.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Financial Empowerment Manager and deliver assigned Financial Empowerment programs effectively
  • Conduct community outreach and deliver program presentations to community members, Momentum staff, and classes
  • Schedule and facilitate program information sessions and educational workshops
  • Manage participant intake, interviews, assessment, and selection according to Momentum and funder guidelines
  • Refer unaccepted candidates to more appropriate interventions
  • Coordinate workshops, guest speakers, and special events
  • Build and maintain participant relationships through online and in-person interactions
  • Provide ongoing participant support, monitor progress, and implement evaluation and feedback
  • Enforce attendance, participation, and other program policies
  • Contribute to internal and external reporting
  • Maintain accurate and updated participant records in Dynamics 365 CRM
  • Address participants' financial, personal, attendance, and day-to-day concerns
  • Make referrals and follow up on outcomes
  • Attend team, staff, community meetings, events, committees, training, conferences, seminars, and workshops
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referring agencies
  • Contribute collaboratively to Momentum's organizational culture and shared accountability

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Social Work or human services related field, Education, Communication or Business, complemented by other training or experience adult education or case management
  • Strong facilitation, instructional and/or public speaking skills
  • Experience in program management, including evaluation and achieving results
  • Experience in working with multi-cultural and/or highly barriered individuals of all ages
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and coordination skills
  • Able to work well independently and within a team setting
  • Good decision making and analytical skills
  • Relevant experience in non-profit sector and working with volunteers
  • Strong knowledge of financial literacy, an asset
  • Strong computer literacy including MS Office suite and Outlook
