About the role

Part-time infusion nurse administering medications and supporting patient care in homecare and specialty clinics. Delivering Innomar Strategies’ patient and provider support services across Ontario.

Responsibilities

Administer IM, SC, and IV medications in home or specialty clinic settings
Support and monitor IV infusion treatments in clinic and/or homecare settings
Monitor post-injection and infusion treatments; chart and report activities according to protocols and nursing documentation standards
Provide patient education individually or in groups
Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints according to training and policies
Coordinate with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling, and other departments regarding appointments, treatments, and information
Perform monthly clinic audits, supply ordering, and other assigned administrative duties
Participate in team web-based meetings and training sessions
Participate in specialized client-related training
Consult with physicians and pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients regarding education and product-specific program implementation
Travel within the designated IBU and surrounding IBUs
Follow nursing, clinic, health and safety, and company procedures
Complete ongoing and annual education training
Maintain professional nursing standards and perform related duties as required

Bachelor's degree in nursing, clinical practice, health sciences, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience required
Professional license or registration in nursing in the applicable jurisdiction of practice required
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
Experience with IV therapy is an asset
Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field
Current registration with provincial licensing body
CPR certificate
Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting
ACLS, PALs, MS and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets
Knowledge of cell phones for making and confirming appointments/assignments and fax machines
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger team
Ability to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary
Flexibility to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last-minute patient appointment requests
Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in both a team and independent setting
Hold and maintain a valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage
Ability to serve unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams
