Financial Analyst supporting Circular Materials, a national recycling producer-responsibility organization. Managing FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial analysis, and dashboards remotely in Canada.
Responsibilities
Partner with Finance, operational teams, and department leaders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and communicate financial insights
Support and/or lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes
Assist with monthly and year-end financial close processes and preparation of financial statements
Analyze financial information and prepare accounting-related records, including invoices and journal entries
Review past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, recommend improvements, and assist decision-making
Develop, manage, and improve Excel-based financial tools
Assist in developing dashboards, reporting tools, commentary, and analysis for program and departmental results
Assist with key metric reporting for company leadership, the board of directors, and external reporting
Prepare commentary on point-in-time and period-over-period revenue and cost results
Review processes and recommend improvements for implementation
Support one-off reporting requests and assist with preparation and maintenance of cost and fee information
Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
University Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Financial Reporting, Corporate Finance, or Accounting
Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling, pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas (INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS), and large dataset analysis
Able to summarize large quantities of complicated information efficiently and clearly
Able to develop clear, accurate, and professional presentations
Skilled in drill-down and variance analysis across multiple dimensions, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvements
High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
High level of integrity, personal responsibility, and accountability
Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams in a dynamic context with changing priorities
Ability to perform well under tight deadlines
Experience with process improvement implementation and/or developing automated dashboards
CPA designation completed or in progress considered an asset
SAP S4 HANA/SAP Fiori, PowerBI, and Datarails experience would be an asset
