About the role

  • Electronic Control Systems Technologist responsible for assembly, installation, and maintenance of traffic signals. Managing Traffic Control and communication systems within a city infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of Traffic Control, Communications, Video and related equipment.
  • Traffic Signal assembly, installation, modification and maintenance
  • Traffic Control Room management of data and video equipment and data communications
  • Signal Timing engineering
  • Camera assembly, installation, modification and maintenance
  • Re-lamping management

Requirements

  • Completion of 3 year college diploma in Electronic Technology
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a field relevant to the skill-set
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with OACETT
  • Must obtain International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Field Technician Level II certification within the timeframe determined by the employer
  • Valid Ontario unrestricted DZ class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
  • Must complete all required on-the-job training/certifications (e.g. WHMIS, fall arrest, confined space entry, etc.) within the timeframe determined by the employer.
  • Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
