About the role

  • Staff People Business Partner advising Clio’s CFO, CPO, and CEO office. Shaping People strategy, organizational design, executive coaching, and workforce planning for a legal AI company.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as principal People advisor to the CFO and CPO
  • Partner with the Office of the CEO on company-wide priorities, operating rhythm, and executive initiatives
  • Drive multi-year People strategy for Finance, People, and OCEO
  • Influence company-wide People priorities through organizational insights and recommendations
  • Anticipate organizational effects of strategic decisions and shape plans proactively
  • Prepare executives for board, audit committee, and leadership forums
  • Lead organizational design, operating model transformation, restructures, and team integrations
  • Advise on organizational architecture, spans and layers, structural interdependencies, shared services, and operating norms
  • Coach VP and C-suite leaders and their leadership teams
  • Lead leadership-team effectiveness engagements, offsites, diagnostics, and development programs
  • Support succession conversations and executive talent assessments
  • Advise on and lead sensitive, complex, or high-risk employee relations matters and investigations
  • Partner with Legal Counsel on organizational risk, executive conduct, and legal exposure
  • Develop employee-relations frameworks, investigation standards, and escalation protocols
  • Shape performance management, talent calibration, succession planning, and total rewards alignment
  • Lead workforce planning and connect headcount planning with organizational design and financial planning
  • Mentor Senior and mid-level PBPs and establish practice standards, playbooks, and tools
  • Contribute to the People operating model and connect business needs with People capability investments
  • Use people data and multi-source analytics to identify organizational risk and assess organizational health
  • Connect people data with financial and operational metrics
  • Develop executive-ready people insights and establish data standards and reporting practices

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive HR / People Business Partner experience
  • Substantial experience at a senior or Staff-equivalent level supporting complex, cross-functional organizations, specifically G&A or corporate functions such as Finance
  • Demonstrated track record advising C-suite leaders directly in high-growth SaaS or technology companies
  • Deep expertise in organizational design, executive coaching, employee relations and investigations, workforce planning, talent strategy, and performance management
  • Strong business and financial literacy, including budgets, headcount plans, and planning cycles
  • Superior knowledge of employment law across multiple jurisdictions, including cross-border and international employment contexts
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and influencing skills
  • Proven discretion handling highly confidential executive, organizational, and board-adjacent matters
  • Systems-thinking ability regarding organizational dynamics
  • Strong data fluency and ability to translate people analytics into executive-level recommendations
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and proven ability to lead organizational change and transformation
  • Collaborative, values-driven approach with confidence to challenge and hold a point of view
  • Demonstrated interest in and application of AI tools to elevate People practice and personal productivity
  • Bonus: experience with pre-IPO scaling, post-merger integration, international expansion, significant workforce transformation, financial planning cycles, Office of the CEO or Chief of Staff functions, People as a client group, multi-geography People practices, or G&A in a pre-IPO SaaS/technology company
