About the role

  • Lead UX Designer improving Cloudera’s enterprise data platform experiences. Driving user research, prototypes, design systems, and cross-functional delivery for enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design user flows, diagrams, wireframes, and designs meeting product requirements and product design standards
  • Create high-fidelity visual designs and prototypes demonstrating user flows
  • Deliver design specifications and supporting assets to development teams
  • Participate in design reviews and collect feedback from designers and stakeholders
  • Facilitate collaborative workshops that unlock innovation
  • Champion the Product Triad and inspire meaningful collaboration
  • Iterate on application features to improve usability and drive key metrics
  • Assist with planning and estimating design activities, workflow coordination, and expectation setting
  • Conduct product research, usability studies, discovery interviews, and competitive analysis
  • Research domains, customers, technology, and competing products and services
  • Contribute to and maintain design pattern libraries
  • Mentor and guide other design team members
  • Partner with designers, product stakeholders, engineering, and cross-functional international teams
  • Uphold implementation quality and improve design processes, systems, and culture

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in UX design, UI design, product design, and/or web
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Portfolio demonstrating conceptualization and visual communication skills; process and design approaches recommended
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design processes and methodology, especially for enterprise software, PaaS, and on-premises applications
  • Mastery of design principles, including grid systems, typography, and color
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in design
  • Experience coordinating and conducting qualitative and quantitative research, usability studies, discovery interviews, and product analytics data analysis
  • Strong collaboration experience with cross-functional, international teams
  • Demonstrable systems-thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Figma, Figma Make, Zeplin, and relevant AI-assisted design and prototyping tools
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field required, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required
  • Experience with cloud, on-premises, and hybrid data platforms or similar technologies
  • Preferred/additional: curiosity and experiments involving AI and design
  • Preferred/additional: working knowledge of HTML, CSS, front-end JavaScript frameworks, and mobile-centric design patterns
  • Preferred/additional: experience designing for data streaming, data engineering, data warehousing, machine learning, and AI applications
