Project Planner at CMR managing project schedules for construction and infrastructure projects. Collaborating with teams to deliver robust project controls and schedule estimates.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain project schedules with clear milestones, coordinating work sequences with the total project plan.
Perform schedule monitoring, identify critical activities, and assist in updating and reporting on schedule progress.
Support the development of schedule estimates for construction works, ensuring they are robust, realistic, and practicable.
Help define the Basis of Schedule, including key assumptions, exclusions, constraints, and dependencies.
Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure buy-in to the project schedule.
Support planning processes, procedures, and governance, contributing to high standards and consistency across the project.
Collaborate with Cost, Risk, and wider project teams to ensure alignment of assumptions and fully integrated planning.
Support the identification of interface risks and contribute to QSRA processes alongside the Risk team.
Assist in validating schedule estimates using benchmark data and design information (including BIM where applicable).
Prepare, analyse, and interpret project performance data to enable informed and timely decision-making.
Requirements
Demonstrable experience in a planning or project controls role on construction or infrastructure projects.
Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
Knowledge and experience of construction elements (e.g. Civils, M&E, etc.).
Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to analyse and present information clearly and persuasively.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Comfortable contributing to workshops and discussions to help identify issues and develop solutions.
Able to collaborate well with clients, partners, and wider project teams.
Experience working on major construction and infrastructure projects (Desirable).
Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. nuclear, utilities, defence) (Desirable).
Qualified to degree level; formal project management qualifications such as PMI, AACE, APM or PRINCE2 would be advantageous (Desirable).
Knowledge of procurement processes and forms of contract (Desirable).
Membership of a professional body (AACE, PMI, or APM) or working towards professional qualifications (Desirable).
