About the role
- Field Service Technician supporting Copeland’s HVACR and retail climate solutions. Troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing customer sites across Canada with up to 70% travel.
Responsibilities
- Support Retail Solutions products, services, and commissioning services for new installations, retrofits, and existing sites
- Establish, promote, and maintain rapport and communication with customers, co-workers, sales representatives, and others
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control problems
- Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving work sites
- Meet regularly with customers to understand operating problems
- Explain service provided and outstanding issues; recommend enhancements, upgrades, or replacements
- Promote add-on work sales
- Manage assigned work for professional, efficient execution and customer satisfaction
- Assist with loading and commissioning system- and network-level controllers
- Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot with subcontractors and other trades
- Provide field-change information for as-built drawings and software
- Keep current on safety bulletins and safety field-change notices
- Operate safely according to published safety guidelines
Requirements
- Associate’s (AA) degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (or equivalent working experience)
- 2+ years of experience with HVAC controls or building automation systems, including commissioning and start up
- Strong computer skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
- Authorized to work in Canada and travel to the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Some overnight travel may be required
- Preferred: 2-year degree in electronics or mechanical systems
- Preferred: Two years’ experience installing electronic and/or mechanical systems
- Preferred: 313A Certification
- Preferred: Bilingual (English/French)
