About the role
- Capital Markets Manager supporting debt, equity, and 45X tax-credit financings for Canadian Solar’s solar and storage businesses. Building financial models, transaction processes, and capital-markets infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Support and manage debt and equity financings for Canadian Solar Inc. and its subsidiaries, including project-level financings for manufacturing facilities across the U.S., Thailand, and other regions supporting the U.S. manufacturing supply chain
- Support corporate-level debt and equity capital raises for business units including e-STORAGE, Module System Solutions (MSS), and other Canadian Solar subsidiaries
- Execute financial analysis and prepare financing decks, investor materials, analyses, and other transaction materials
- Own project and platform financial modeling and update financing assumptions and scenarios
- Coordinate financing processes and diligence, including lender, investor, and tax credit buyer outreach
- Manage information flow, coordinate internal teams and external advisors, respond to diligence requests, maintain data rooms, and track open items and deliverables
- Execute transaction workstreams through closing, including maintaining transaction trackers, coordinating documentation and closing deliverables, and managing milestones and deadlines
- Build the Capital Markets function and establish repeatable processes, models, templates, trackers, data rooms, financing materials, and institutional knowledge
- Support and manage monetization of 45X tax credits associated with U.S. Manufacturing projects
- Maintain relationships with banks, lenders, institutional investors, rating agencies, financial advisors, and other capital markets participants
- Interact regularly with business leaders including the President of CS Powertech, CEO of CS Sunshine, and CFO of Canadian Solar Inc.
- Support active transactions while building internal financial infrastructure and processes for the growing team and business
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- MBA, CFA, or other advanced qualification is a plus
- 5–8+ years of relevant experience in capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance, treasury, private credit, project finance, or a related field
- Experience executing debt and/or equity financing transactions
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, financial modeling, capital structures, and corporate finance
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Strong PowerPoint/presentation capabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior executives and external financial institutions
- Experience in renewable energy, energy storage, power, infrastructure, manufacturing, or technology is preferred
- Experience working across international markets is a plus
