About the role
- Mobile maintenance technician troubleshooting and repairing commercial facilities, industrial systems, vehicles, and grounds equipment. On-site client locations in Drummondville and Saint-Laurent, Québec.
Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairing buildings and installed systems, including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC
- Clean, lubricate, and service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices
- Assist with installing and modifying building equipment and systems
- Replace and repair building finishes, including ceiling tiles, door hardware, and wallpaper; paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend maintenance operation upgrades and savings opportunities
- Use and care for tools and equipment used in facility and grounds maintenance
- Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and preventive maintenance needs
- Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms, fire pumps, and related fire protection equipment
- Perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary
- Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency requirements, Company directives, and safe work practices
- Complete required C&W Safety Training annually
- Comply with the C&W Uniform Dress Code and maintain a neat, clean appearance
- May be the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts and respond to priority or emergency situations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting
- Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record; commercial license may be required
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Excellent French proficiency, spoken and written
- Ability to work extended periods without relief during priority or emergency situations
- Ability to work overtime, shifts, and/or standby on-call duties
- Ability to use smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including communicating, operating computers and office equipment, moving about the workplace, remaining stationary for 10% of the time, and extending hands and arms in any direction
