About the role

  • DevOps Manager overseeing releases, enterprise tooling, and incident response for Delta Controls, a building-automation solutions manufacturer. Establishing standards across global product teams and offices.

Responsibilities

  • Own the DevOps practice, tooling, and release management across the Product Development department
  • Ensure release and deployment success across multiple products
  • Partner with product DevOps Specialists and team leads to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Define and promote merge, branching, release, and CI/CD standards
  • Coordinate deployment windows and cadence across products
  • Operate, maintain, administer, upgrade, patch, and capacity-plan enterprise DevOps tools
  • Manage tool access, permissions, integrations, licensing, vendors, and costs
  • Evaluate and onboard new enterprise DevOps tooling
  • Set technical direction and provide mentorship, coaching, career guidance, and technical reviews for DevOps Specialists
  • Participate in hiring processes through technical evaluation and input
  • Own the enterprise on-call and incident response program, including tooling, escalation policies, rotations, runbooks, severity definitions, and post-incident reviews
  • Drive phased rollout toward full 24x7 on-call coverage
  • Improve DevOps and release practices based on incidents, release outcomes, and team feedback
  • Report release health, deployment frequency and failure rates, and on-call/incident metrics to the Chief Product Development Officer

Requirements

  • Strong technical communication and cross-team influence skills
  • Experience managing or leading release/deployment processes at scale across more than one product line
  • Experience administering enterprise DevOps tooling such as GitLab, SonarQube, or equivalents
  • Experience designing or running an on-call/incident response program
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tooling and practices, including GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Helm
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and hold accountable team members outside a direct reporting line
  • Outstanding diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of SDLC, application architecture, deployment, and infrastructure practices across multiple products
  • Conflict resolution skills for cross-team and cross-office release disputes
  • College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, or related infrastructure roles
  • Prior experience in a functional/matrixed management role preferred
  • Experience running or building an incident response/on-call program preferred
  • Experience administering source control and code quality platforms at scale preferred
