About the role

Lab Technician building, wiring, and maintaining test infrastructure for Delta Controls, a Canadian building-controls manufacturer. Supporting product verification, fabrication, testing, documentation, and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

Assist the DVV verification and validation team with constructing, wiring, maintaining, modifying, and repairing test infrastructure and systems
Occasionally assist with testing and monitoring Delta products
Create, build, and maintain test jigs
Fabricate components using CNC routers and 3D printers
Create CAD/CAM designs for simple parts
Wire test walls and fixtures according to wiring diagrams and schematics
Keep workshop and lab workspaces neat and orderly
Perform routine checks of lab equipment and facilities
Check stock levels of shop supplies and reorder when necessary
Carry out preventative maintenance on shop and lab equipment
Perform testing using established procedures
Document work, take pictures, and store records
Assist with component inspections and GD&T as needed
Help the DVV team as needed

Adept in the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and wire cutters
Comfortable with the safe use of power tools such as saws and drills
Able to connect components based on a rough wiring diagram or sketch
Familiar with Windows-based PCs and Microsoft productivity suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Good interpersonal and written communication skills
Diploma in an electronics-related program or equivalent
1 year of related hands-on experience preferred
Excellent time management skills
Detail-oriented and systematic
Interest in continuous improvement and desire to learn
