About the role

  • Conseiller en finances personnelles chez Desjardins, le plus grand groupe financier coopératif d’Amérique du Nord. Accompagnement de membres jeunesse et particuliers en placement, financement et protection.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a long-term, trust-based business relationship with members and clients
  • Ensure member and client satisfaction
  • Listen to members’ and clients’ needs and provide advice tailored to their financial situation
  • Support members and clients in choosing solutions that help them achieve their financial goals
  • Manage a client portfolio composed of youth clients and individual members
  • Propose offers related to investments, financing and protection (insurance)
  • Act as the financing expert and resource person for the credit union
  • Ensure alignment between member and client satisfaction, business objectives, risk management and profitability
  • Collaborate with various partners and specialists to propose integrated strategies
  • Advise members and clients on the best strategies and determine target outcomes with them
  • Evaluate member and client satisfaction and service quality, perform follow-ups and recommend required improvements
  • Stay up to date on financial news, market trends and best practices
  • Carry out representation activities and contribute to the credit union’s presence in the community

Requirements

  • College diploma (DEC) in a relevant technical discipline
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered
  • Certificate as a Group Savings Representative – Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF)
  • Proficiency in French required
  • Knowledge of financial, economic, political and legislative news
  • Knowledge of all products and services offered to Caisse members and those offered by Desjardins Business Centres, as well as the Desjardins distribution networks and competitors
  • Knowledge of integrating financial data into systems
  • Knowledge of debt management
  • Knowledge and awareness of compliance with laws governing the distribution of financial products and services
  • Knowledge of the philosophy and operation of a financial services cooperative
  • Knowledge of policies, legislation and standards related to the products and services offered by the Caisse
  • Knowledge of operational procedures related to financing and investment activities
  • Knowledge of Desjardins’ business processes and service standards
  • Knowledge of techniques for evaluating and monitoring individual financing applications
