About the role
- Azure data platform administrator operating Desjardins’ cloud infrastructure and supporting development teams. Deploying secure, automated data-platform environments for North America’s largest cooperative financial group.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee work to keep commitments made to reach objectives
- Help solve highly complex problems using analytical skills and detailed understanding of the business and organization
- Lead and serve as a platform specialist for the unit, clients and practitioners from other sectors
- Develop complex execution strategies, and analyze, design and document business products and solutions
- Analyze and develop software products, including design, coding, automation and testing
- Write procedures, guidelines and development methods
- Help develop documentation and prepare and deliver training for peers and consumers
- Cocreate with partners to understand business intentions and objectives and standardize solutions
- Identify system optimization opportunities and impacts of changes
- Analyze, diagnose, follow up on and resolve highly complex operational and conceptual problems during major incidents
- Lead software package installations and testing and application rollout
- Roll out and operate the new Desjardins Group data platform in an Azure cloud environment
- Support development teams with environment implementation, code deployment and shared production infrastructure
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field
- Minimum of six years of relevant experience in platform administration
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience with Azure environments, including Compute, networking, analytics, security, monitoring, DNS and Kubernetes
- Experience in infrastructure as code, including Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD and pipeline management
- Experience managing Azure data platforms
- Analytics experience
- Proven experience managing complex or urgent situations
- Professional experience in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
- Proven experience managing multiple priorities with tight deadlines
- Microsoft Azure certifications
- Knowledge of French is required
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Python or a similar scripting language
- Solid command of infrastructure, including Proxy, firewall, Active Directory, DNS and telecommunications/network interconnection
- Knowledge of security rules configuration and implementation, including RBAC, ABAC and Policy
- Knowledge of agile environments, including Jira and Confluence
