About the role

  • Communications Advisor supporting Desjardins caisse communications, events, social media, and community relations. Advising managers and coordinating member, community, sponsorship, and internal communications.

Responsibilities

  • Support and advise caisse managers in selecting, applying and implementing communications solutions, practices, programs and tools
  • Participate with the caisse management committee to develop the annual communications activities plan within the allocated budget
  • Advise managers on communication activities for client segments, community organizations, officers, managers and employees, and help carry out these activities
  • Identify potential risk situations, inform the caisse’s general manager and partners, and monitor service quality activities such as surveys and complaints
  • Analyze sponsorship, donation and fundraising requests, make recommendations, conduct follow-ups, and help produce the caisse’s social responsibility report
  • Analyze, select and ensure the quality of communication methods for members and clients, including letters and mass mailings
  • Produce and communicate information for local and internal newspapers
  • Support representatives in maintaining business relationships with client groups and community organizations
  • Help organize events such as information sessions, seminars and School Caisse activities
  • Manage social media communities by writing content for posts and ensuring relevant, consistent comments and interactions
  • Identify needs and follow up on advertising placement guidelines with partners
  • Follow up on Desjardins merchandising proposals and order promotional materials
  • Help organize logistics for caisse events, including annual and special general meetings, and oversee annual report production

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of products and services for members, products and services offered by Desjardins Business centres, components and distribution networks, and products and services offered by competitors
  • Knowledge of the external environment
  • Knowledge of communication and advertising methods, techniques and resources
  • Understanding of the philosophy and fundamentals of financial services cooperatives
  • Knowledge of policies, legislation, standards and ethics governing the operations of the caisse and its centres
  • Knowledge of service standards
  • Familiarity with the democratic structure of caisses and Desjardins Group
  • Action oriented, Business insight, Customer Focus, Differences, Interpersonal Savvy, Nimble learning
