About the role

  • Financial disclosure advisor preparing and analyzing Desjardins financial, statutory, and regulatory reports. Improving accounting controls, compliance, procedures, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose issues, challenges and needs to determine target outcomes
  • Perform, validate and analyze accounting and financial transactions while ensuring data is complete and compliant with accounting policies and standards
  • Develop and help implement objectives, solutions and action plans
  • Carry out specialized analysis and make recommendations to develop best practices
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, financial governance rules, and tax and accounting standards
  • Prepare, analyze, disclose and monitor financial statements for financial, statutory, regulatory and strategic reporting
  • Advise and assist clients and partners as part of intervention and development initiatives
  • Propose solutions to improve or optimize standards, procedures, controls and tools
  • Prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on organizational objectives and priorities
  • Solve complex problems using analytical skills and extensive knowledge of the line of business
  • Coordinate and interact frequently with stakeholders in other fields

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Mutual fund representative certificate – Autorité des marchés financiers
  • Mutual fund representative certificate from the Ontario Securities Commission
  • Representative’s certificate in damage insurance (AMF)
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Intermediate advanced proficiency of written English
  • Business insight
  • Interpersonal savvy
