About the role
- Financial disclosure advisor preparing and analyzing compliant financial reporting for Desjardins, a financial services cooperative. Advising stakeholders and improving accounting controls, procedures, and tools.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, disclose and monitor financial statements for financial, statutory, regulatory and strategic reporting
- Advise and assist clients and partners on intervention and development initiatives
- Propose solutions to improve or optimize standards, procedures, controls and tools
- Diagnose issues, challenges and needs to determine target outcomes
- Perform, validate and analyze accounting and financial transactions while ensuring complete and compliant data
- Develop and help implement objectives, solutions and action plans
- Carry out specialized analysis and make recommendations to develop organizational best practices
- Ensure compliance with regulations, financial governance rules, and tax and accounting standards
- Coordinate and interact with stakeholders in other fields
- Prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on organizational objectives and priorities
- Solve complex problems using analytical skills and extensive knowledge of the line of business
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Mutual fund representative certificate – Autorité des marchés financiers
- Mutual fund representative certificate from the Ontario Securities Commission
- Representative’s certificate in damage insurance (AMF)
- Knowledge of French is required
- Intermediate advanced proficiency of written English
