About the role

  • Manager leading the Financial Strategy and Optimization Department at Desjardins. Overseeing financial strategy and team performance in the Insurance and Wealth Management sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director in establishing and operationalizing this new department.
  • Help align strategic directions and ensure that business and financial priorities are implemented across Insurance and Wealth Management
  • Develop and carry out the administrative department’s business plan, ensuring the delivery of initiatives, strong team performance and demonstrated value
  • Support business partners in optimizing performance levers and developing financial strategies
  • Oversee acquisition activities and strategic financial analyses supporting investment and growth decisions
  • Strengthen the quality, relevance and use of financial information for decision-making
  • Support continuous optimization of Insurance and Wealth Management capital
  • Influence senior management decisions by providing analyses, recommendations and strategic insights
  • Mobilize, develop and support teams in a transformational environment to strengthen expertise, collaboration, sustainable performance and adherence to Desjardins’s cooperative values
  • Ensure rigorous governance, effective reporting and the achievement of target results

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • A minimum of nine years of relevant experience, including four years in a management role
  • Significant experience in developing optimization and acquisition strategies, and in conducting business valuations
  • Professional credentials, such as MBA, CPA, CFA, EEE/CBV
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Advanced proficiency in financial concepts, corporate performance and value creation
  • Proficiency in financial planning and forward-looking analysis, particularly in insurance and wealth management
